16 Years Ago Today: FA Trophy Winners

17 May 2014

16 years ago today Cheltenham Town lifted silverware at Wembley.

Cheltenham Town lifted the FA Trophy aloft at Wembley 16 years ago today.

A 1-0 win over Southport at the old Wembley Stadium sealed the Robins' place in history as FA Trophy winners and laid the foundation for promotion into the Football League just one year later.

Jason Eaton's finish caused an eruption of noise from the travelling Robins and Steve Cotterill's team held on to lift silverware and write history for Gloucestershire football.

The team that day: Book (GK), Duff, Victory, Banks, Freeman, Knight (Smith 78), Howells, Bloomer, Eaton, Watkins, Walker (Milton 78).
