Scunthorpe Rewind

25 March 2014

The Robins will be looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe back in October.

Russ Wilcox is unbeaten in the league as Scunthorpe United manager - a tough task lays ahead.

Scunthorpe United are of course sat comfortably in second position in this season's League Two table and since Wilcox took charge of the Glanford Park out fit they have failed to lose any games in the division. There have been plenty of draws but that incredible form has seen them become one of the favourites to life the title come May.

So the task ahead for Cheltenham is a tough one but the Robins will be eager to bounce back from a baffling defeat away at AFC Wimbledon and you wouldn't bet against them doing so if they show some of the credential they have been promising over recent weeks.

Our previous match versus Scunthorpe was back in October and the Robins lost that afternoon 2-0.

A 6th minute opener from troublesome winger Etienne Esajas had opened the scoring for Scunthorpe and Cheltenham Town rarely threatened again in the first half. Their second half performance however was much improved but efforts from Cureton and Harrison failed to hit the target.

The hosts put the game beyond doubt in injury time courtesy of Sam Winnall and since then they have risen to the upper echelons of the division.
