Race Day 4 - Our Preview

The best odds available to you ahead of Gold Cup day at the Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham takes centre stage in the sporting world this afternoon with thousands at Prestbury Park to cheer and millions more tuned in to watch the Gold Cup.

Last year’s Champion Bob’s Worth with Barry Geraghty onboard is back to defend his title and Sky Bet have him as favourite at 15/8.

Hard on their heels in the betting is Paul Nicholls’ Silviniaco Conti at 10/3 with Sky Bet. Amazingly Nicholls is without a winner this week and his Gold Cup horse fell three out in last year’s race so they have a point to prove.

The big local challenge comes from The Giant Bolster, which is trained by David Bridgwater and ridden by Tom Scudamore one of the stars of the week and Sky Bet are offering odds of 14/1 for the Gloucestershire stable to win.

Champion jockey AP McCoy who rode his first winner of the Festival yesterday is on Triolo D’Alene, which Sky Bet have at 10/1.

And another Champion to watch out for is Jim Culloty who rode Best Mate to three back-to-back Gold Cups. Now training in County Cork, Jim celebrated a winner at Prestbury Park yesterday with Spring Heeled and is back chasing gold today with Lord Windermere which Sky Bet have at 33/1.

If you fancy taking a punt on any one of our tips today then sign up to Sky Bet using www.skybet.com/cheltenham and you could earn a FREE matched bet of up to £30 whilst earning £10 for Cheltenham Town Football Club.
