It wasn't a classic but Cheltenham Town showed true grit to grind out a 1-0 win over relegation strugglers Torquay United.
The first half was largely dictated by the visitors with Joss Labadie and Enoch Showunmi leading the line well but the robins did have their chances through both Jamie Cureton and Terry Gornell. It was a poor half of football however and Neil Howarth admitted after the game that the half time team talk was aimed at building the tempo.
The second half was however much like the first until the introduction of both David Noble and Byron Harrison. Cheltenham's leading goal scorer had numerous chances on goal and David Noble began to control possession in midfield but it was Matt Richards who grabbed the winner on 75 minutes with a volley just inside the area following an Ashley Vincent corner.
It may have not been pretty but it was certainly a big three points.
