The 19 year-old central midfielder was contacted last week by Scotland U21 manager Billy Stark who requested the Churchdown-born youngster to link up with his squad at a training camp at Champneys Spa in Leicestershire.
Joe trained yesterday and he will take part on a practice match later today before travelling back to support his team-mates in the pre-season friendly at home to Bristol City.
"It's all going well and I'm enjoying it," said Joe.
"I think I have done well but we have a practice game a little later today. I'm really glad I chose to come because it has been a good experience."
Churchdown-based Joe qualifies to play for the Scotland national teams if selected because his mother is Scottish and much of his family are based there.
Joe will be heading down to support the Robins v. Bristol City tonight which kicks off at 7.45pm. Ticket news can be found here.
