Pitch Update

30 January 2014

Head Groundsman Terry Roberts gives us a pitch update ahead of the weekend.

Head Groundsman Terry Roberts is hopeful ahead of our home game versus Northampton Town this weekend.

Heavy rain has played it's part in postponing games across the Football League over the previous month and Cheltenham have fallen victim on a couple of occasions but there are hopes that this won't be the case again this weekend.

The pitch at present is playable and Terry is hopeful that the Abbey Business Stadium pitch will pull through ready for action this weekend.

"If the match was played now then it would be game on - no problem," said Terry.

"It was waterlogged on Tuesday but that has now gone through the surface and has been removed by the pump so at the moment we are playable. The forecast for tomorrow is heavy rain but we are hoping it comes through early and be gone by early evening. A dry night, a dry day and it's meant to be windy (on Saturday) so that should help. Hopefully we'll be fine."
