Michael Ihiekwe Extends Stay

31 January 2014

Wolves loanee Michael Ihiekwe will stick with the Robins until the end of the season.

Young defender Michael Ihiekwe has extended his loan with Cheltenham Town until the end of the season.

Michael, 21, signed on the dotted line at the training ground this morning in a deal which will see him play a role with the Robins until Monday 26 May on loan from his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His loan extension comes fresh from making his professional debut away at Plymouth Argyle last weekend with a strong performance in the Robins backline.

"I am over the moon," said Michael this morning.

"It just gives me the opportunity to showcase what I can do so hopefully I can stay in the team and we can push on. I'm learning so much even from just training and the boys here have a wealth of experience."

You can watch Michael's reaction to making his professional debut on the video below (2:36 onwards).

You can see Michael in action at the Abbey Business Stadium this weekend and you can match tickets online here for the big game.
