Lucas: Enjoyed My Debut

3 February 2014

Lee Lucas made his Cheltenham Town debut at the weekend and he spoke to ctfc.com about the experience.

Swansea midfielder Lee Lucas pulled on the Ruby & White strip of Cheltenham Town for the very first time at the weekend.

The 21 year-old linked up with the Robins on an initial month's loan last week and he didn't have to wait too long before making his debut in the midfield diamond.

Lee was placed at the bottom of the diamond and he admitted he enjoyed the experience despite the disappointment of dropping two points.

"I was happy with my performance but it was just disappointing to have not won the game," he said.

"It would have been better if we had won the game because that is the most important thing but we have to take the positives from the game because we really should have gone on to win it."

League Two football is of course a completely different prospect for the young midfielder but having had one appearance in this division with Burton Albion before he was more than ready for the challenges that faced him.

Home fans were treated to some neat passing work and Lucas even gave as good as he got in the tackling department - a role he thoroughly enjoyed.

"I understand that, in this league, you have to make a tackle or two!

"I'm still getting used to this league because it is different and you do need to adapt but I enjoyed it. We did well for large periods of the game and we had a good few chances to win the game but it wasn't to be and now we aim to get three points next weekend."

Lee and his new team-mates are back in action next weekend away at York City. For the latest ticket news, including that fixture, click here.
