Mark Yates discusses this afternoon's 3-0 defeat away at Kidderminster.Cheltenham chief Mark Yates talking to the media following the friendly with Kidderminster Harriers this afternoon:
"We tried something in the first half but it clearly didn't work. There is a lot for me to learn and mostly not very good stuff but we have a tough week ahead with plenty of work ahead. I thought they wanted it more than us in the first half to be honest. They are a decent team and I have seen them plenty of times but some of our defending and desire wasn't there today. We got found out.
"There were probably more questions than answers. We can't go to Bury on the back of that. We were all quite happy with an hour against Bristol City and we were thinking the system worked but Matt (Taylor) had a slight knock. We haven't signed him for the first game against Bury, we have signed him for two years. I thought it would work and we worked on it Thursday but it clearly didn't work so we changed it. It's not about formations, it is about players wanting it and we didn't want it as much as they did.
"Pre-season has been really good but today has been a bit of a kick in the teeth for us all and none more so than me as I live ten minutes down the road. That is what pre-season is about. More game time and hopefully we get at least one more in by the weekend by Monday or Tuesday. Bury are going to be one of the teams up there at the top of the table this year and we need to go there with a good attitude and better than what we were today.
"Goals change games and we conceded a couple of poor ones. Myself and Lee (Vaughan) are probably a bit embarrassed today. I thought he was great first half but played a part in their second goal. We've got to dust ourselves down because we haven't lost any points so at least we have a week now to prepare for Bury next week."

We are having problems publishing the match report at present. We hope to have this sorted by Sunday morning.
