Shakers Rewind

8 August 2014

Cast your minds back to our last encounter with Bury back in March.

The Robins kick off the 2014-15 season this weekend away at Bury's JD Stadium.

The Shakers are of course one of the favourites for this season's League Two title but Mark Yates' Cheltenham will be hopeful of causing an upset as the underdogs on Saturday.

Our last clash with Bury was back in March here at Whaddon Road and it was a game in which Cheltenham ran out 2-1 winners after an entertaining 90 minutes.

Daniel Nardiello provided the assist for Clive Platt after bursting past Steve Elliott before passing the ball across the face of goal for the big striker to score from close range. Ashley Vincent equalised just two minutes later however after catching hold of a through ball before dispatching a shot underneath the big frame of Brian Jensen.

It was the man of the season however that secured all three points. Byron Harrison replaced Jamie Cureton on the hour mark and the striker had struck the winner following some good wing work from Jermaine McGlashan. That goal secured a vital 2-1 win over Bury and helped the Robins to one of their very few home wins in their 2013-14 campaign.
