Robins 6/1 To Progress

12 August 2014

The odds are against Cheltenham Town as they travel to Brighton in the Capital One Cup.

The Robins take on Brighton & Hove Albion this evening in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

It will of course be the first time that Cheltenham Town have played at Brighton's impressive American Express Community Stadium but the odds are against Mark Yates' side as you might expect.

Cheltenham are 6/1 to win the game whilst favourites Brighton, managed by former Liverpool defender Sami Hyppia, are give odds of 1/5 to qualify for the second round.

The Robins aren't without hope however with a strong win over promotion hopefuls Bury at the weekend and a strong win over Crawley in this competition last season. Byron Harrison inspired Cheltenham to a 4-3 win over Crawley Town last season after extra time although a scoreline such as that is a long shot. A 2-1 win for the Robins however would fetch you odds of 20/1 whilst a smash and grab 1-0 is worth 16/1. Perhaps a more likely result would be a draw on full time and 1-1 currently gives you odds of 13/2 on Sky Bet.

Byron Harrison was of course the hero last season when putting Crawley Town out of the first round and for the big striker to score first tonight you can get odds of 8/1. Joe Hanks was the match winner at the weekend though and for the young midfielder to score at any stage tonight is worth 7/1. If you feel Brighton will draw first blood however then odds of 3/1 or 4/1 for Chris O'Grady and Craig Mackail-Smith respectively seem good bets.

There are plenty of interesting odds available right now on Sky Bet and we have picked out just a few for you to take advantage of this evening.

- Cheltenham Town to win and both teams to score 11/1
- Terry Gornell to score within the first 10 minutes 40/1
- Both Chris O'Grady and Matt Richards to score 11/1

Our optimistic bet of the evening will be a 2-1 victory for the Robins and Jason Taylor to score the first goal of the game. That bet will give you odds of 325/1.
