Victory: I Scored The Goal

22 April 2014

Jamie Victory tells www.ctfc.com that he was the man to score Cheltenham's most famous goal.

Who did score that goal 15 years ago to secure our position in the Football League.

The never-ending debate rumbles on with supporters split on whether it was the head of Jamie Victory or Mike Duff that sealed one of the club's most historic moments.

That 3-2 win over Yeovil here at Whaddon Road was a magical moment in the club's timeline but Jamie Victory, now a youth coach at the Robins'Academy, firmly believes that the winner was in fact his.

"I know I scored the goal," Jamie said firmly.

"The ball came over and obviously myself and Mike Duff went up to compete for the ball but I got the last touch so I was pleased that I got the winning goal.

"Going up into the Football League was the main thing but it is nice that it's still open in the air! It just meant so much."

What do you think? Tell us on Twitter (@CTFCofficial) using either #Duff or #Victory and of course the hashtag #CTFC15 as we look back on that famous day.
