Loan & Youth Watch

2 April 2014

Youth prospect James Bowen impressed whilst in action for Evesham United last night.

Some of Cheltenham Town's young prospects were in action last night out on loan or on work experience.

The star of the evening was James Bowen who scored twice and assisted once in Evesham United's 4-0 win over North Leigh. James, who can play at left back or on the left of midfield, was brought on as a substitute in the 26th minute of the game for the injured Marcus Jackson and he soon turned the game on it's head.

Bowen scored a volley to make it 1-0 and that was soon followed up by his second of the night with a driven effort into the bottom corner. On 79 minutes Bowen's pass found Lance Smith who made it 3-0 and Evesham went on to record an impressive 4-0 win. Youth team midfielder Adam Powell also played his part in the win and played 74 minutes of the match.

Other youth players out on work experience duty were Harvey Rivers and Spencer Hamilton who both played in Bishop's Cleeve's 2-0 home loss to Yate Town.

First team pro Joe Hanks was also in action during Gloucester City's 2-0 loss at home to Oxford City although he had to be brought off after just 20 minutes due to an injury. Ed Williams was an unused substitute of the evening for Gloucester.
