It was back to the drawing board as Cheltenham slipped up away at Scunthorpe United at the weekend.
A goal at the start of the match and a goal in the dying embers of the game were enough for Scunthorpe to claim victory but Cheltenham Town perhaps deserved a way back into the game after a much improved second half performance and the dismissal of two possible penalty claims.
Mark Yates was left frustrated five minutes into the match when poor defending allowed Etienne Esajas the time and space to smash a low drive beyond Scott Brown into the bottom corner of the Cheltenham goal. The Robins struggled to find any kind if response in the first half but their second half display offered much hope. Jermaine McGlashan was denied a penalty and Jamie Cureton came close but the Robins found no fortune and they were soon beaten by a 90th minute winner which confirmed all three points for an 8 game unbeaten Scunthorpe side.
