Steve Elliott has been handed the Community Player of the Year award.
Steve Elliott has been named the Education Ambassador for the 2012/2013 season after taking a keen interest in all our Community Educational Projects.
The Robins club captain has been extremely supportive with the Community Programme's BTEC Level 3 Futsal and Educational Scholarship and is also ambassador for the individual project. He was handed the awarded by Community Programme Director Simon Perruza after signing his new one year contract with the club.
The players have once again been fully involved in the local community this season with school visits, children's ward visits and even the opening of the brand new FOCUS research centre at Cheltenham General Hospital.
"It's so important that the players are out there in the community," said Community Development Officer Olly Roberts.
"Steve has been brilliant both on and off the pitch for us this season. He is the ambassador for our successful Futsal scholarship and he takes a keen interest in everything going on around the club and not just on the football side.
"We are hoping to do more and more in the community next season and the players we have here right now make it easy for us to achieve that."
Mark Yates and all the players have once again been supportive of the community work delivered. Steve always leads by example on visits helping the younger players through the experience and taking time to sign autographs and have pictures taken.
Former winners of the Community Award include Shane Duff, Michael Pook and Dave Bird.
