Burton Albion dealt a bitter blow to Cheltenham Town's promotion credentials this weekend with a 3-1 scoreline.
The Robins had started the game well but a moment of poor defending allowed Alex MacDonald the opportunity to shoot from close range putting the Brewers ahead against the run of play. The scoreline was soon 2-0 when MacDonald whipped in a superb cross before Weir guided his header over and beyond Brown.
Changes were made for the second half but it took just a few minutes for Burton to score their third through Robbie Weir with the midfielder given far too much room inside the are for a close range header. Cheltenham had lost but there was time for a consolation goal for Byron Harrison, his first in the colours of Ruby and White.
