Deaman Joins On Loan

28 March 2013

Birmingham central defender Jack Deaman has joined Cheltenham Town on a youth loan deal.

Cheltenham Town have today signed Birmingham central defender Jack Deaman on a youth loan deal which will see him through until the end of the season.

London-born Jack, 19, joined the Blues in the summer of 2011 having previously been with Wrexham's academy. He trained with his new team-mates this morning and will be in contention to play tomorrow afternoon at Port Vale.

"I've known Jack for a couple of years and he is a good player and athlete." said Mark Yates.

"We need to cover every eventuality and we are a little light in defence. Michael Hector is close to a suspension so Jack will give us some protection. He knows what to expect here and he is ready to try and prove himself.

"I want to thank Birmingham for allowing Jack to come here on loan."

The tall central defender can also play on the right side of defence and has even been utilised in midfield before. He is a regular for the Birmingham City U21 squad and has reportedly attracted interest from other clubs in npower League Two.

You can watch Jack and his new team-mates in action away at Port Vale tomorrow but you can also catch them on home turf on Easter Monday where a Family Fun Day will be in full flow with children having to pay just £2 for their tickets. For more information, click here.
