Connor Signs Extension

3 July 2013

Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Connor Roberts has this morning signed a new one year contract.

Robins goalkeeper Connor Roberts has today signed a new one year contract with the club.

Connor, 20, joined the club last summer following his release from Premier League side Everton and he has made great strides in his development despite not making an appearance for the Robins last season.

The young goalkeeper was offered a new deal in May and ongoing talks with the Welsh U21 international have now led to him putting pen to paper this morning at the training ground.

"We are just glad to have Connor back," said Mark Yates.

"He has developed well working with Steve Book and Browny so we didn't want to waste that. The deal had to be right for him but he has made good progress with us including getting into the Wales U21 squad. It was touch and go at one stage but we left the door open for him and he's decided to stay."

You can see Connor in action next Tuesday when Cheltenham Town take on Evesham in the first pre-season friendly of the summer. Ticket details and prices to come soon.
