Yates: Poor All Over The Pitch

9 February 2013

Mark Yates disappointed with poor performance all across the pitch.

Robins chief Mark Yates speaking to the media following today's 1-0 loss to Dag & Red:

"The supporters came down here to support the boys and we gave them nothing to cheer about. It was a really poor performance from start to finish. Everyone has to take responsibility and I include myself in that. It wasn't good enough.

"Credit to Dagenham but we can't be as bad as that individually or as a group. Dagenham won too many battles across the pitch and although it was only one goal, it could have been one or two more. There are no complaints about the result but there is about our performance. We haven't got to the standards that we should be.

"We've got to move on because we have a game on Tuesday. That's not me dismissing today. It was the same team that played Tuesday apart from Billy Jones who I felt would give us more composure on the left. The wingers didn't create enough and our strikers didn't hold the ball up well enough. It looked like we were just hoofing the ball up the pitch and that's not how we want to play.

"A bad day at the office for everybody and we must make sure we don't play like that on Tuesday."
