The best images from the weekend's 2-1 victory over Torquay United.
An impressive performance led to a 2-1 victory over Torquay for the Robins at the weekend but Cheltenham really could have had a few more.
From kick off the Robins looked a confident and fluid unit and immediately caused Torquay problems. Paul Benson's gentle finish from a 2nd minute cross really should have been a debut goal but Shaun Harrad's poaching instinct pushed it over the line only to be flagged offside. A goal chalked off but still Cheltenham pushed forward. Kaid Mohamed was on set piece duties in the absence of Billy Jones and one of his corners was greeted by the forehead of Keith Lowe with an effort that handed his side the lead. Torquay threatened just once in the first half through Rene Howe but it was a solid save by Scott Brown.
The second half was much of the same and Shaun Harrad's sublime finish gave Cheltenham a two goal lead. Cheltenham could have had a few more through Russ Penn and Darryl Duffy but Torquay grabbed a consolation through Howe although Scott Brown was perhaps unfortunate to see the ball roll over his body when making the save. It was a vital three points that saw Cheltenham lift themselves back up into the automatic spots.
