Cheltenham Town continued their impressive run and recorded their first back to back wins of the season with a 1-0 Boxing Day win over Exeter.

The Robins are now 11 games unbeaten in Sky Bet League 2 and they have now never failed to win in 9 meetings with the Grecians in all competitions. It was a perfect end to Christmas for Mark Yates' Robins but it wasn't all one way traffic in this one.

Cheltenham Town had started the match well and they got a deserved goal in the early stages with Jamie Cureton using his poaching expertise to slip the ball beyond Krysiak into the back of the net. It was 1-0 but it was muted celebrations with the veteran striker showing respect to his former employers. Cheltenham went from strength to strength and could have stretched their lead beyond reach though efforts from Noble, Harrison, Cureton and Goldson but they failed to penetrate the Grecians goalmouth.

Half time handed Exeter the break they needed and they were a completely different beast in the second period. Early chances for Wheeler and Gow tested the resolve of the Robins but they were finding Scott Brown in scintillating form and the Cheltenham number one made save after save to deny the visitors. Cheltenham did hit the post through Cureton in the second half but it was the defence that won all three points in this Boxing Day fixture as the Robins marched on.
