Steve Elliott has been nominated for npower League Two player of the month.

Cheltenham Town club captain Steve Elliott has been nominated for the npower League Two player of the month award for March.

Steve scored twice in the month of March and then followed that up by scoring the winner over Northampton Town on Easter Monday (April 1). He  helped his team keep three clean sheets during March too which, coupled with his performances, have won him a place on the shortlist for this award.

The other players nominated are Accrington Stanley's Lee Molyneux and Plymouth's Jason Banton,

Steve has played in every single game this season apart from the FA Cup first round clash with non-league side Yate Town here at the Abbey Business Stadium back in November.

The player of the month panel sees Katy Thomas joined by Wolves legend Don Goodman, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit and the Football League's Head of Communications, John Nagle. The winners of the award will be announced at 9.30am on Friday and, if Steve is successful, we will bring you news here on www.ctfc.com.
