Benson Injury Update

9 April 2013

Paul Benson will be out for a couple of weeks and has a chance of playing Bradford City.

On loan striker Paul Benson is facing a couple of weeks on the sideline but could have a chance of playing Bradford City on the final day of the league season.

Paul was stretchered off at the weekend during the 2-0 loss to Plymouth Argyle and he had a scan on his ankle this morning but the scan was as expected and senior sports therapist Ian Weston was confident that the Swindon loanee will still play a role in this campaign.

"He has an outside chance for Bradford City," said Ian.

"It was as we expected. Paul has a grade one sprain of the deltoid ligament and one of the tendons round the back of the ankle bone. The indications are that he will be out for the next two games but he could make the Bradford game if all goes to plan and it settles down well.

"He's still not fully weight bearing at the moment but with the good news we received today, we can push on over the next few days. If we end up in the play-offs then it will mean Paul will be available for those games and that is a bonus."
