Mark Yates delighted with victory but believes the performance could have been stronger.
Mark Yates speaking to the press after this evening's match v. Morecambe:Â"I want more. We started really well and we have had to do well against a spirited side coming off the back of a few disappointing results and we have had to cope with a lot of set pieces tonight. It is a pleasing three points and clean sheet.
"Sometimes it is even more difficult when they go down to ten men. Some of our play was really good but we didn;t really have the cutting edge that we should have done when they went down to ten men. I would have liked us to have been better in possession and creating a few more chances because we didn't really test their keeper enough. It's an awkward one when you are 1-0 up against ten men but we got there eventually and it's great to see Darren Carter score a couple. He has played a hell of a lot higher than this and some of our players could look at his enthusiasm. He's fit, strong, a great pro and he was superb tonight.
"The boys on the bench shouted that he was free on the edge of the box and that it was his wrong foot but he's got that bit of quality where he can stroke it with the outside of his foot and it caught the goalkeeper off guard. He deserved his two goal and how he didn't get man of the match I don't know.
"I genuinely didn't see the red card incident. The linesman was flagging and I was just telling him to let the game go because we had a chance of scoring but he was adamant he wanted to get the referee's attention. I literally didn't see what happened.
"Being up in 5th gives us a nice feeling for the weekend and I'm sure we'll drop down tomorrow but it's not about league positions right now because you need to accumulate as many points as possible and finding that extra 20% we need to kick on. We'll get back on the training ground and look towards a couple of tough games coming up."
