Danny Out On Loan

13 September 2012

Danny Andrew has today joined Cambridge United on loan.

Danny Andrew has today joined BlueSquare Premier side Cambridge United on an initial one month loan deal.

The 21 year-old left back was dislodged from his position in the first team by Everton defender Luke Garbutt for much of last season and the summer signing of Billy Jones has also meant that Danny is yet to make an appearance in the 2012-13 campaign for the Robins.

The youngster was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season and Mark Yates feels it's important for Danny to be playing first team football as much as possible.

"It's important that Danny gets first team football," said Mark.

"He is still very much a big part of our club but he needs to be playing and Cambridge can give him that."

Danny has made 70 appearances for the club since initially signing on loan from Peterborough United in 2010 which was then followed by a permanent transfer following his release from Posh. He has scored four goals as a Cheltenham Town player and experienced a previous loan spell out at Mansfield Town towards the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

Cambridge United take on AFC Telford this weekend and Danny is available to make his first appearance for the club.
