Yates: Good Three Points

13 October 2012

Mark Yates happy to crash the party and take all three points.

Mark Yates speaking to the media following today's 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon:

"It's a good three points. Once we scored it seemed to lift them and we dropped off a little but we have done well. They have some good players so it was tough.

"We were disappointed not to have put the game out of sight in the second half and they've scared us with their goal but I thought we deserved to win and Browny deserved a clean sheet because he has made an outstanding save from Midson. We've got a nasty habit of winning away from home right now and it's important that we keep it up.

"All of the defence and my goalkeeper were outstanding today. It has been well documented this week that I was looking to bring something in but, like I said on Thursday, I was more than happy to put Keith in there. I have to keep asking the question because we only have Danny (Andrew) on the bench. Benno is out suspended and we wanted Harry to get games out on loan. The lads have put in a really good shift and they have played the game rather than the occasion.

"I had a chat with Marlon on Monday. He is a great lad but I explained that he hasn't been as sharp as he should be and that he needed to step up. He did that for the first hour on Tuesday and he was outstanding today. He played a deeper tole but the movement for the goal was great and it was a good finish.

"Wimbledon are a big strong side but we were solid and we answered all their question up to 92 minutes."
