Whaddney Is Back...after a feather lift

The big Cheltenham Town secret is out – Whaddney the Robin has had a makeover.

Whaddney has been missing from duty for the last three matches and the club tried to hide his absence as holiday leave but in truth the best loved Robin in Gloucestershire has been away having a “feather lift”.

“He’s over 10 years old now and we thought it only right to give him some time off to freshen up. The fans have always loved him and I know he can’t wait to get back to work,” said his spokesperson Rick Minter.

The finishing touch will come this Saturday morning with a final cut and blow dry at the Regis Salon in the town’s Regent Arcade.

Whaddney will then parade his new good looks on a walkabout  in the Arcade and as a special treat will be giving away 50 free children’s ticket vouchers to Saturday’s home game against Fleetwood Town.

The new look Whaddney will be back at work at the Abbey Business Stadium on Saturday afternoon ahead of the game v. Fleetwood Town.
