The date for our FA Cup clash with Yate Town has now been confirmed.
Cheltenham Town will host Yate Town here at the Abbey Business Stadium on Saturday 3 November with a kick off time of 3pm.Discussions have been held with Yate as well as Gloucester City who will be playing Leyton Orient here on Sunday 4 November (3pm). Ticket news for our FA Cup match versus the competition's joint smallest side is yet to be confirmed but we will announce this as soon as possible.
We have played Yate Town many times in the County Cup in recent years but we have played them in the FA Cup once before back in our non-league days. Yate manager Rob Cousins is a former Bath City footballer who played at Twerton Park alongside our senior sports therapist Ian Weston. Another link between both club is Michael Meaker, Yate's assistant manager, who played for Reading against Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup back in the 1997-98 season.
