Chris Zebroski talks exclusively to www.ctfc.com and Robins Player
New Cheltenham Town striker Chris Zebroski is hoping to make a big impact here at the Abbey Business Stadium. The 25 year-old signed for the club earlier today on a two year contract with the Robins and Bristol Rovers agreeing terms earlier this week and Mark Yates wasted no time by throwing the frontman straight into training with his new team-mates.
It's clear that 'Zeb' wants to prove a point and make a bit impact here at Cheltenham Town and he told www.ctfc.com that a move to the Robins was the right thing for him to do professionally.
"It's always nice to be wanted and the gaffer showed a lot of interest but the football being played here was a positive too," he said.
"Everyone has been really nice and welcoming but now I'm looking forward to getting started and playing on Saturday. I like to play through the channels and express myself and I can do that with Cheltenham Town."
Chris, who will wear squad number 26, is well known for his hard work ethic and his commitment to the cause but he has shown in the past that he is more than capable of winning games for his club and that has been proven with his time at clubs such as Wycombe and Torquay.
The athletic forward openly admitted to not having enjoyed a good season with his former club Bristol Rovers but he is hoping to show the Cheltenham Town faithful his best during his time at the Abbey Business Stadium.
"I don't really think the team and I got off to a very good start last season and then the new manager came in and, with him, different ideas. I thought it was the right time for me to move on," he explained.
"I've always had a good work ethic and I will always give 100% but I think I suit the way Cheltenham play because I like to be positive. I think we need to take this season as it comes because we know it will be tough but if we're up near the top around Christmas then anything is possible for the club.
"I'm here to score and create goals and I hope the fans will see the best of Chris Zebroski this season."
