Yates: Tremendous Character

21 August 2012

Robins chief shares his delight at character and performance this evening.

Cheltenham Town boss Mark Yates interviewed after the 2-2 League Two draw against Torquay United at Plainmoor:

"I really enjoyed the game tonight. We got the lead we craved but then we conceded two very un-Cheltenham-like goals to go behind.

"We showed tremendous character to get back into it in the second half. We have Scott Brown to thank for some terrfic saves to keep us in it, but we showed that we are tough and have got plenty of fight.

"We kept playing and I thought some of the performances tonight were magnificent.

"It's a tough place to come and this is a good point but we're disappointed not to win.

"I think we've got a potent strikeforce at this club - I couldn't get Darryl Duffy on the pitch until the 85th minute, which shows the quality of this squad.

"There were lots of good individual performances today. It's a good point, and were off the mark in terms of away points."
