Cheltenham make perfect start to the new league season.
A goal either side of half time handed Cheltenham Town a perfect start to the 2012-13 npower League Two season.
The Robins started well but found themselves frustrated by a Dagenham & Redbridge side keen to prove their critics wrong and either side could have taken the lead throughout the first half. Scott Brown and his defence stood strong until, perhaps against the run of play, Shaun Harrad was unleashed by a pinpoint cross from Sam Deering and the Bury loanee made no mistake in scoring his first goal for the club on his league debut. A sensational second half goal four minutes after the break from Jermaine McGlashan killed off the visitors and eased any remaining caution for the hosts and from there on in it was all rather comfortable for Mark Yates' side. In the end it was a deserved victory and Cheltenham Town could head to Plainmoor on Tuesday night safe in the knowledge that they had points already under their belt.
