Connor Signs Contract

10 August 2012

Young goalkeeper Connor Roberts has today signed a one year deal with the club.

Young goalkeeper Connor Roberts has today signed a one year deal with Cheltenham Town following his trial spell with the club.

Connor, 19, joined the club on trial following his release from Premiership side Everton and has been impressing during training as well as during the pre-season matches he has been involved with. Connor was a substitute in the Cardiff friendly and he played the full 90 minutes against Solihull Moors on Tuesday night.

"We're delighted to have signed Connor," said Mark Yates.

"It's important that he puts pressure on Scotty Brown and he is looking forward to working more closely with Booky. I hope he can grow into an even better goalkeeper during his year with us."

Roberts joined the Toffees at the age of 15 and spent time out on loan with Burscough and Colwyn Buy last season. The Wrexham-born shot stopper is a former Wales under 16 & 17 international.

Connor was registered with the club before 12pm today and he is therefore available to play in tomorrow's Capital One Cup first round clash v. MK Dons.
