Kian Bedford scored a consolation goal as a young Cheltenham Town reserves side lost 3-1 to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday afternoon in the Central League southern section.
Facing a Wimbledon side that included the likes of Ghana international Kwesi Appiah, Tom Soares, Andy Barcham and Jake Jervis, Pete Haynes' (pictured) young side faced a tough outing at Merstham FC's Moatside ground.
They managed to hold off the hosts until just before half time when Barcham broke the deadlock.
It was 2-0 shortly after the break when Wimbledon's on loan Luton Town forward Jervis notched.
On the hour mark Appiah then extended the lead when he made it 3-0.
After a series of substitutions, the Robins managed to have their say in the game when first year defender Bedford headed in from a corner to claim a consolation goal.
