Report: MK Dons 2-2 Robins

15 April 2023

The Robins fought back to claim a 2-2 draw away against MK Dons in the Sky Bet League One.

Cheltenham took the lead in the first half through Elliott Bonds before former Robins man Mo Eisa bagged two for the Dons.

Who else but Alfie May would grab a goal at the death for the Robins, ensuring that they left Milton Keynes with a point.

The hosts looked to get themselves ahead early on as Dean Lewington lashed his effort well over Luke Southwood's goal.

Cheltenham would take the lead in the game however, a mistake at the back from MK Dons gifted the ball to Bonds, who tucked the ball home from close range.

Bonds went for goal again just before half-time, putting the ball just over the bar from outside the area.

The Dons would pull one back before halftime, with Eisa drilling the ball into the bottom corner of Southwood's goal.

Eisa had a chance to make it two for the Dons, however, a good save from Southwood kept the scores level.

The striker did ensure the Dons took the lead, scoring from the penalty spot after Tennai Watson was brought down in the box.

May saw a penalty brilliantly saved by Cumming after Aidan Keena was tripped in the MK Dons penalty area.

May would draw the Robins level deep into added time, Ryan Broom's cross was met by Caleb Taylor to head it back across the goal for the striker to poke home from close range.

Match Pack: MK Dons (A)

12 April 2023

Cheltenham Town take on MK Dons at Stadium MK this Saturday in League One (3PM KO).

The Robins held promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town to a 1-1 draw on Monday at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, with Alfie May scoring his 17th goal in all competitions levelling it up for the Robins late on.

Back in October, Wade Elliott's side hosted the Dons, but neither team could break the deadlock and the game ended in a goalless draw. Saturday won't be our first visit to Stadium MK this season, with the Robins coming away 2-1 victors in the Papa Johns Trophy group match and will be hoping for a similar outcome this weekend.

Cheltenham Town supporters will be located in the North Lower Stand and tickets are still available for the match online.
