Experienced centre-back Daniel Parslow signed a one-year contract with Cheltenham Town in July 2015, following a successful trial spell with the Robins.
The Caerphilly-born 29-year-old started out with Cardiff City, but was released in 2006 having failed to break into the Bluebirds’ first team.
He soon linked up with York City, making his debut in a 3-0 defeat to Crawley, and went on to become something of a cult hero in a nine-year spell at Bootham Crescent. Acclaimed for his character and leadership both on and off the field, Parslow is the first player to be named the Minstermen’s Clubman of the Year on three occasions, as well as completing a five-year degree in sports science at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The versatile defender made more than 300 appearances for York, scooping a Vanarama National League Play-Off Final and FA Trophy medal in the process, as well as enjoying a brief loan spell with Grimsby Town in the 2014/15 season.
Parslow, who has also been capped at Welsh Under-21 level, put pen to paper at the World of Smile Stadium after impressing boss Gary Johnson in a string commanding of pre-season displays.
