Central midfielder Asa Hall signed a two-year contract with the Robins in June 2014.
Hall was born in Sandwell, West Midlands and was a young player in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Academy setup before he moved onto Birmingham City where he signed professional terms at the age of 17. As a young midfielder he represented England at Under-19 and 20 level before making his Football League bow on loan at Boston United in the 2005/06 season.
Further loan spells with Ashford Town and then Shrewsbury helped him begin to make a name for himself, before he helped Luton reach the final of the Football League Trophy in 2009 in a spell at Kenilworth Road which saw him notch 17 goals in 89 appearances.
The 28-year-old’s next step was with Oxford United, where he registered 70 appearances and 11 goals later before re-joining Shrewsbury Town in 2012. Further loan spells at Aldershot Town and Oxford United followed before Hall was released, allowing him to link up with the Robins.
After a promising pre-season with the Robins, Hall picked up an Achilles injury just four minutes into his side’s 2014/15 season opener at Bury, and did not feature for the rest of the campaign.
