Now one of the longest serving players at Cheltenham Town, Jerry Gill first joined the Robins as a non-contract player in February 2004.
His form in the remainder of that season earned him an extended stay with the club and the popular right-back has been virtually ever-present since then.
Jerry is a vastly experienced player who began his career in non-league football in the West Country with Backwell United, Trowbridge Town and Bath City prior to a £9,500 move to Yeovil Town in 1996.
He enjoyed a successful year with Yeovil, winning promotion to the Conference, and was then snapped up by Birmingham City in a joint six figure transfer with striker Howard Forinton. Jerry spent six years with the Blues and made in a number of high profile games including a Worthington Cup semi-final and play-off matches.
He moved to Northampton Town in 2002 but his time at Sixfields Stadium was cut short by a knee injury.
Since joining the Robins Jerry has proved an important influence over some of the younger players at the club and has led by example, especially during the promotion season of 2005-2006 when his calming presence in a youthful back four helped to steer the team through the play-offs and into League One.
Throughout both the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 seasons Jerry has continued to put in consistent performances. Adaptable to any position along the back four but most often seen at right-back, he has become a big favourite with the fans.
Jerry became the team captain in the absence of an injured John Finnigan from the middle of October 2007 and steered the side to eventual final day safety.
