Soon after his managerial appointment at Cheltenham Town, young left-back Danny Andrew became Mark Yates' first signing when the player joined the Robins, on loan, from Peterborough United, during January 2010.

A product of the youth system at Peterborough, Danny gained the opportunity for first team football on loan at Tamworth in the Blue Square Premier where he made five substitute appearances at the start of season 2009-2010.

Mark Yates then took him to his former club Kidderminster Harriers and he made nine starting appearances for the Worcestershire club.

In January 2010 Danny made his Football League debut with Cheltenham in the Robins' 0-0 draw at Grimsby Town and went on to make a further nine appearances before heading back to Peterborough. 

With 'The Posh' under new management Mark Yates made a quick approach for the young full-back when Danny was released at the end of the 2009/10 campaign and snapped up the 19 year old on a two year contract.  Danny scored his first goal in professional football in the 2-0 victory over Aldershot Town earlier in the season and it was that kind of form that earned him a one year extension to his current contract in the summer of 2011.
