Steven is a Liverpool-born striker who joined Cheltenham Town from Bristol City in 2006.
As a schoolboy Steven broke Robbie Fowler's goal-scoring record for Liverpool Schools but then saw his own record broken by Wayne Rooney.

Steven began his career as a trainee with Liverpool FC, going onto make regular appearances for the reserve team. He was released from Anfield in 2004 and was immediately snapped up by Bristol City despite interest at the time from Cheltenham manager John Ward.

Steven was unable to break into the Bristol City team on a regular basis but fared much better during a loan spell at Cheltenham, during which he scored four goals in five appearances.

He returned for a further loan spell towards the end of season 2004-2005 and found himself back at Whaddon Road once again in November of this season, scoring five goals from only four starts and a series of substitute appearances.

Steven made the move to Cheltenham permanent at the end of the January 2006 transfer window for an undisclosed fee. He signed a two and a half year contract at Whaddon Road and despite suffering a couple of niggling injuries that limited his appearances over the first season and a half, his importance to the club as a source of goals resulted in an extended contract in the summer of 2007.

Keeping Steven fit and not missing through suspension is an important factor for Cheltnham Town. He is a natural predator and during 2007/08, despite scoring the winner and then getting his marching orders on the opening day of the season, luckily he remained available for a high proportion of the fixtures.

His tally for the term was a magnificent 16 goals and when you also consider the number of times he was denied by the woodwork, it could have been considerably more.

The fear for Cheltenham Town supporters now, is the interest he must be attracting from other clubs.
