Scott is a busy, energetic midfield player signed from Bristol City in January 2007 on an initial loan that was later switched to a permanent transfer.
Merseyside-born Scott began his career as a trainee with Everton and, like his friend Steven Gillespie, was courted by Cheltenham Town upon his release from the Premiership but joined Bristol City in the summer of 2004. He made 49 starting and 19 substitute appearances for the first team scoring five goals.
Scott, who is not to be confused with the goalkeeper named Scott Brown who was already at the club when he arrived, has played wide on either side or midfield or through the middle during his Football League career to date.
He made his debut for Cheltenham Town in the away match at Huddersfield Town on 13 January but tragedy struck shortly afterwards when he suffered a broken leg in a freak collision with one of his own players, ironically during a match against Bristol City. Scott underwent successful surgery on the injury and returned to action in January 2008. He went on to record a total of ten starts and a similar number of appearances from the bench during the remainder of that season.
Scott will be the first to admit that the fans have yet to see him back at his very best; but he has done extremely well to have got to where he is after such a terrible injury. A strong and committed pre-season throughout the the summer of 2008 has given him every chance of returning to his former glories and becoming the anticipated major feature in the colours of Cheltenham Town.
