Drissa Diallo joined Cheltenham Town during September 2008, initially on a one month emergency loan from Milton Keynes Dons but the move was made permanent during the January transfer window.
The 36-year old Mauritanian born defender with French nationality can operate at either full-back or centre-back and he joined Milton Keynes in the summer of 2006, having been signed by Martin Allen when he was manager of the club.
Drissa started his career in France playing for AS Brevannes and Sedan before moving to Belgium and playing for RC Tilleur and KV Mechelen.
In 2003 Mechelen went into liqidation and Diallo moved to Burnley. However, after just five months with the Lancashire club Joe Royle swooped to sign him for Ipswich Town.
Drissa completed a two-year stay at Portman Road helping Ipswich reach the Championship play-offs but his time there was marred by injury and he was released in the summer of 2005.
Sheffield Wednesday, then managed by Paul Sturrock, took the defender to the newly promoted Owls a month later and Drissa turned out some impressive displays for the Hillsborough club.
In July 2006 he was signed on a free transfer by Milton Keynes Dons and played a big part in helping the club to reach the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final and promotion from League Two, although he missed the latter part of season 2007-08 with a shoulder injury.
Although he was born in Mauritania, Drissa's family are another West African country, Guinea. Drissa spent much of his early life in Guinea before moving to France and has represented the country at international level.
