Veteran goalkeeper Barry Richardson joined Cheltenham Town as goalkeeping coach at the start of the 2009-10 season, also signing non-contract forms in order to cover for regular number one Scott Brown while youngster Will Puddy served a loan spell at Bath City.
Barry is a highly respected coach who was recommended to Robins manager Martin Allen when previous coach Alan Fettis moved to Premier League Sunderland.
It was at Sunderland that Barry Richardson started his 20-year career and after a brief spell in non-league football with Seaham Red Star, he returned to the Football League with Scarborough in the old Division Three. Barry later served Stockport County; Northampton Town; Preston North End; Lincoln City (two spells); Mansfield Town; Sheffield Wednesday (loan); Doncaster Rovers (two spells); Halifax Town; and most recently Nottingham Forest where he also filled the role of goalkeeping coach.
