The fight goes on for Cheltenham Town who were defeated in the final minutes here this afternoon thanks to some individual magic from Dean Morgan.
The Robins had taken the lead from the penalty spot but two second half goals gave Aldershot all three points which strengthens their campaign for the playoffs.
Mark Yates made three changes to his squad this afternoon and was boosted by the news that Michael Townsend (ankle) and Josh Low (ankle) were fit to play. Michael Townsend replaced Shane Duff at the heart of defence today and Andy Gallinagh replaced Lee Ridley in the starting eleven although he will start on the right with Aaron Lescott at left back. Julian Alsop has also dropped to the bench with Barry Hayles taking his place alongside Justin Richards.
3: Dean Morgan just whipped in a devilish cross from the left wing that just bypassed former Robin Damien Spencer. Aldershot have started with a real intent this afternoon.
6: What a strike from Michael Pook. His long throw was cleared out by the Aldershot defence back into his own path and he struck the ball with the outside of his right foot first time and forced a stretching save from Jamie Young.
8: Anthony Charles came close to putting Aldershot in the lead with a clever header from the corner. His stooping header lifted the ball just over Brown's crossbar.
13 BOOKING: Aldershot keeper Jamie Young was yellow carded for bringing down Barry Hayles. The striker managed to pull the ball away from the incoming keeper and enough contact was made to knock Hayles off his feet.
14 GOAL: Justin Richards put Cheltenham ahead from the penalty spot and secured his 15th goal of the season with a neatly placed shot sneding the keeper the wrong way.
19: First real chance for Damien Spencer who is making his full Aldershot debut today. He released a strike from the edge of the area but it went wide of the post.
22: Marvin Morgan just denied a goal for Damien Spencer. He got it in the way of his team mate's effort inside the area and Cheltenham were quick to clear the danger.
24: Aaron Brown was left all alone in the area when a Scott Donnelly freekick was whipped in and he was able to fire in a volley at goal but a superb diving save from Scott Brown denied the equaliser.
31: Good wing play from Hayles who managed to whip in a cross from the left. The ball found it's way to an unmarked Josh Low but his effort flew over the crossbar.
33: Damien Spencer just missed a glorious chance to score the equaliser. It was a teasing cross from Dean Morgan and Spencer found himself with just the keeper to beat but he put the ball over Brown's goal.
35: Brilliant attacking play from Cheltenham who deserved a second there. Hayles put Richards through on the left and the goal scorer did well to lay Hayles back off again in the area. Barry's thunderous shot was parried away by Young and Aldershot breathe a sigh of relief.
42: Aaron Brown came close for Aldershot. It was another freekick that assisted the centre back but his header was poor and it cleared the crossbar.
Half Time: Robins 1-0 Shots
47 BOOKING: Justin Richards was yellow carded for a deliberate handball in his own area. The Robins were appealing that he had been pushed.
47 GOAL: Scott Donnelly pulled Aldershot equal from the penalty spot with a confident strike.
56 BOOKING: Dean Morgan was booked for pure stupidity. The referee pulled him back ten yards from the Robins freekick but the winger moved forward again against the will of the referee and was yellow carded for his efforts.
56: Ashley Eastham came close to scoring from the freekick with a shot at the far post but was denied by the diving Jamie Young. The linesman had his flag up for offisde so it wouldn't have counted anyway.
62: Matt Thornhill came close to handing the lead back to Cheltenham. He struck an effort from about 25 yards and it only just whistled over the crossbar.
69 BOOKING: Young just mis-kicked his goal clearance and it fell to Barry Hayles but the striker was bundled over by Anthony Charles who was yellow carded for the foul. Jamie Young is now down with cramp and recieving treatment.
76 SUBSTITUTION: John Halls was brought on by Kevin Dillon for Damien Spencer. Damien recieved an excellent applause from the home crowd.
78: Misplaced pass and the first mistake of the day from Gallinagh who has been solid otherwise. Marvin Morgan stole it from the right back and made progress towards the Cheltenham goal. His shot was dragged wide of the far post but the linesman saw a save from Brown and gave a corner to the Shots.
84: Anthony Charles hit the crossbar with a clever flick header from the corner. Apparently that's the fourth time he has hit the crossbar in four games.
84 SUBSTITUTION: Julian Alsop replaced Barry Hayles.
86: Straker had a decent headered effort on goal from Jackson's cross but it proved comfortable for Scott Brown.
87: Very nearly a chance for Cheltenham. Alsop, Young and Aaron Brown all piled in for the same long ball and the ball fell loose but it was poked away from danger before Richards could capitalise.
89 SUBSTITUTION: Kirk Hudson was brought on to replace Marlon Jackson.
90 GOAL: Dean Morgan stole the three points from Cheltenham with an outstanding piece of individual play. He lifted the ball over Lescott and smashed the falling ball past Brown to give the Shots the lead.
90+1 SUBSTITUTION: Winfield was brought on for Aaron Brown.
