Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates is hopeful that loan signing Shaun Jeffers will extend his stay with the club for at least another month.
The 18-year old Coventry City youngster has scored twice since joining the Robins on the eve of the new season despite making only one starting appearance plus three from the substitutes' bench.
Shaun's loan period is due to finish after the npower League Two fixture at Barnet on September 4 but Mark has already contacted Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd regarding the possibility of an extension.
"Shaun has done very well for us so far and looks a great prospect," said Mark.
"I've spoken to Aidy who is happy with his progress with us and wants him to continue getting first team experience so hopefully we can finalise something next week."
After Saturday's game against Burton Albion Shaun will join up with the England Under-19 squad for his first taste of international football, a match against Slovakia on Thursday 2 September at Crewe Alexandra, before returning to Cheltenham Town for the match against Barnet at Underhill.
