Injury news

Posted on: Mon 16 Aug 2010

Cheltenham Town central defender Martin Riley has a minor hamstring tear and will be out of action for three to four weeks.

The former Wolves trainee and Kidderminster Harriers player made his Cheltenham Town debut in the opening fixture of the season against Gillingham and impressed supporters with his performances both in that game and the Carling Cup tie at Brentford.

However, he was forced out of Saturday's 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra after half an hour with the injury and now faces a spell on the sidelines.

There is better news regarding Theo Lewis, who missed the start of the season with a bout of glandular fever.

"Theo had another set of tests this morning and the news is much more encouraging," said the club's senior sports therapist Ian Weston.

"He has been given the all clear to resume light training this week, although he will not be available to play for another couple of weeks."
