Reserve team friendly

Posted on: Tue 17 Aug 2010

Cheltenham Town will send a team to play a training ground game at Bristol City tomorrow afternoon (August 17).

The team will comprise those first team squad members who require some match time having not been involved from the start of the club's three matches so far this season. Loan signings Shaun Jeffers and Robin Shroot are also lined up for a game.

The remainder of the team will be made up from first year professionals and Scholarship players. First year Scholar Matt Williams and second year James Fawke are named in the starting line-up.

Once again this season Cheltenham Town have not entered a reserve team league. The coaching staff prefer to have the flexibility to arrange matches when and where required. Last season the club secured some high quality reserve team games against opposition such as Portsmouth, Reading and Nottingham Forest. Reserve team matches will therefore be arranged on an ad hoc basis and any home games will be played at the Seasons training ground.

CHELTENHAM TOWN: Lloyd-Weston, Williams, Gallinagh, Fawke, Haynes, Watkins, Emery, Melligan, Lee, Jeffers, Shroot. Subs: Barnfather, Waters, Turley, Sauntson

- The youth team got their Football League Youth Alliance season off to a winning start on Saturday with a 4-1 success against Hereford United at Seasons. David Waters (2) and Ethan Moore (2) were on target.
- Jacob Morgan from Lydney in the Forest of Dean is set to become the eighth player to sign first year Scholarship forms with the club this week
