"I'm looking forward to going into battle on our home patch after two tough away trips and two decent performances."
Yates: Performances must become results

Previous meetings at the Abbey Business Stadium
If Cheltenham are to record their first victory of the season then they will have to overcome a disappointing record of results against Crewe Alexandra at the Abbey Business Stadium, stretching back to the Boxing Day 4-0 thumping in 2003 - a result they repeated last term. The Robins have registered only one win in five attempts, courtesy of a single Drissa Diallo goal in 2008, while they have come from behind to secure two draws.

Crewe pulled off one of the bigger shocks in the first round of the Carling Cup during the week, dumping Derby County out of the competition at the first hurdle at Gresty Road. However it was Hereford United who grabbed the win by a single-goal margin in the League Two curtain raiser, again at the same ground, thanks to a debut goal by Javos Kovacs.
