Cheltenham Town have been awarded with the F&C Investments Performance of the Week award for the stunning 6-5 victory over Burton Albion last weekend.
The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award should go to Cheltenham Town following the remarkable comeback win against Burton Albion in Coca-Cola League Two last weekend
The victory ensured that Cheltenham manager Mark Yates received the F&C Performance of the Week Award for the first time. Mark received a specially engraved crystal football this morning. The presentation will be screened on Sky Soccer Saturday tomorrow.
The Robins were in fact 5-3 down with just 3 minutes to go in the game before starting an amazing comeback. Michael Pook scored a hat trick and the winning goal late into stoppage time which secured a valuable win for his side.
After the match, Robins boss Mark Yates was delighted with the performance and his side's comeback: "At half time I said one or two things that I had, and am paid to say. We set out with our game plan and it was over in about 90 seconds.
"Credit to the boys, in the situation that we're in it would've been easy to fold, but we have got a spirit amongst us that we showed in the second half."
