Groundshare proposal

Posted on: Mon 22 Feb 2010

Cheltenham Town chairman Paul Baker has confirmed that initial discussions have taken place with Gloucester City FC with regard to a possible ground-sharing agreement at the Abbey Business Stadium.

Paul was keen to stress that discussions are at a very early stage and that no agreement has been concluded. However, a proposal for Gloucester to play at Cheltenham Town for the next two years is under discussion.

Gloucester City currently play their home games at Cirencester Town FC while they pursue the possibility of returning to a new ground in the city following the loss of their former home Meadow Park to flood damage.

"We've held some initial talks with Gloucester City," said Paul Baker.

"The discussions were positive but we are still in the early stages.

"Both clubs have to be sure that a ground-sharing arrangement is right for them and we will be holding further discussions in the near future."
