Cheltenham Town groundsman Terry Roberts is hopeful that Boxing Day's match against AFC Bournemouth will go ahead at the Abbey Business Stadium.
The pitch has been frozen since last Friday night and Saturday's home fixture against Burton Albion was postponed as a result. The frost from that freeze has still not thawed but Roberts is expecting some movement later on today.
"Last Friday was a heavy frost and it even got under the frost covers," he explained.
"I'll be removing the covers today and as temperatures start to rise the frost should start to come out.
"The forecast for the end of the week is sunny spells during the day and temperatures up to five degrees with no frost on Friday night. If that all goes to plan then we should be fine for Boxing Day."
AFC Bournemouth have been riding high in Coca-Cola League Two this season, although their most recent fixture ended in a 5-0 defeat at in-form Morecambe.
Tickets for the Boxing Day match are available in advance from the ticket office, which will be open today and Wednesday 23 December from 10am to 4pm and on Christmas Eve from 10am to midday. The ticket office will be open before the Boxing Day game for the sale of tickets for future matches and away travel tickets. The ticket office will then close until Monday 4 January.
We anticipate that there will also be tickets available for all parts of the ground available from the turnstiles on Boxing Day.
